Through our association with Prospect Farm, the protection and restoration of the environment is one of the central themes in our management strategy and great care is taken to ensure that the environment is not adversely affected by any Company activities.

The provision of a Waste Transfer Facility is in itself a means of protecting the environment as it provides companies and businesses with a location where they can bring their waste to be processed and disposed of efficiently, safely and correctly.

Chilton Waste Services is governed by the Environment Agency and subject to very strict controls and regular inspections.

The fact that Chilton Waste Services recycles about 50 - 60% of the incoming waste has a positive effect on the environment. The resale of recycled materials, which in turn slows down the depletion of primary resource, which in itself is a crucial environmental aspect.

A restoration plan is in discussion with Oxfordshire County Council for the restoration of the land and care and attention will be given to restoring the area to its natural beauty.

Tree-planting has been undertaken to further shield the site from the public’s eye and to promote and maintain the natural beauty of the area.

The area surrounding the site provides the natural habitat t many species of wildlife including deer, hare, pheasants, partridges, owls and many song birds. Care is taken to encourage them and preserve and enhance their habitat.

Literally every attempt is made to protect the environment, the surrounding area and the village of Chilton, which is home to the Company.
